Turbat: Political Activist Gulzar Dost Reappears After Detention by Pakistani Forces

Turbat: Prominent political activist and convener of the Turbat civil society group, Gulzar Dost, has resurfaced after being detained by Pakistani security forces. According to family sources, he is now in the custody of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

Gulzar Dost was reportedly taken into custody late last night from his residence in the Absar area of Turbat and moved to an undisclosed location. His sudden detention sparked widespread concern in the region, with human rights organizations and civil society groups demanding his immediate release.

According to sources, charges have been filed against him under allegations of delivering provocative speeches and other offenses. However, he has yet to be produced before a court.

Gulzar Dost’s family has urged senior authorities to ensure his prompt appearance in court and to uphold his legal and constitutional rights. The incident has drawn criticism from rights groups, who argue that such actions undermine civil liberties and fuel public distrust.
