Mashkay, Balochistan: In a disturbing continuation of enforced disappearances across Balochistan, four young men were reportedly abducted by Pakistani security forces and state-backed death squads in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Mashkay, Awaran.
According to Zrumbesh News, the individuals have been identified as:
- Mujahid, son of Dad Kareem
- Asad, son of Umar
- Zareef, son of Saleh Mohammad
- Rasheed, son of Khuda Bakhsh
Eyewitnesses report that the youths were forcibly taken from their homes without warrants during a joint operation allegedly involving Pakistani military personnel and Death squad.
Local residents and human rights observers have raised grave concerns over the safety and whereabouts of the disappeared. No formal charges or legal proceedings have been announced by the authorities, and the families remain without information.
This incident adds to the growing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where such abduction often carried out without due process or accountability have become a daily reality, according to activists and media sources.
Human rights groups have repeatedly condemned the systematic use of enforced disappearance as a tool of repression in the region, calling on both Pakistani authorities and the international community to take urgent action.
Despite ongoing appeals for justice and transparency, enforced disappearances in Balochistan continue with alarming regularity and impunity.
