BNM Chairman Condemns Arrests of Peaceful Protesters in Karachi

KARACHI : In a statement posted on social media platform X, Baloch National Movement (BNM) Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch strongly condemned the arrest of Amna Baloch and other peaceful demonstrators in Karachi who were protesting the killing of Zeeshan Zaheer.

Dr.Naseem Baloch described the act as “criminalizing peaceful protest” and called the state’s response a reflection of “Pakistan’s colonial mindset toward Balochistan.” He highlighted that Zeeshan Zaheer had been demanding the recovery of his forcibly disappeared father before he himself was allegedly killed in custody.

“The repressive response to peaceful protest is further proof that the Baloch are not safe, even in raising their voices,” Dr. Baloch wrote.

He concluded the post by reiterating that freedom from Pakistani rule is the only path to justice and safety for the Baloch people.
