Quetta June 23: Students of the Boys Postgraduate College in Quetta’s Saryab Road area staged a protest on Monday, blocking the main road in front of the college in response to the prolonged absence of water and electricity in their hostel.
Chanting slogans and holding banners, the protesting students demanded immediate restoration of basic utilities in the hostel, stating that the lack of water and electricity for several days has made living conditions unbearable, especially amid intense summer heat.
The students added that the absence of these essential facilities is adversely affecting their studies and that the college administration has remained unresponsive despite repeated complaints.
Protesters warned the administration that if their demands are not met immediately, they would expand the protest and could also boycott their classes.
The demonstration caused a disruption in traffic flow on the busy Saryab Road. Police personnel present at the site attempted to disperse the students and restore traffic movement.
