Tehran: Israeli Air Force Targets Iran’s State TV Network

On June 16, 2025, the Israeli Air Force targeted the headquarters of Iran’s official Presidential Radio and Television Network (IRIB) located in the northern part of Tehran. At the time of the strike, a live broadcast was underway when a powerful explosion rocked the studio, causing the ceiling and lighting equipment to collapse. An emergency alert was immediately issued.

According to sources, the attack followed a threat made by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, in which he warned that the Iranian broadcasting network would be “eliminated in the same manner.”

Prior to the strike, Israeli military officials had warned civilians to evacuate areas near key command centers.

Despite the attack, the broadcast was not fully disrupted and resumed from an alternative location just minutes later.

This airstrike is part of Israel’s ongoing bombing campaign against Iran, aimed at damaging its missile systems, nuclear facilities, and military infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Iran has retaliated with missile and drone attacks on Israeli cities, resulting in casualties and significant loss of life on both sides.
The situation remains extremely tense, with fears of further escalation from both parties.
