Balochistan: Multiple Bomb Blasts Leave Two Dead, Dozens Injured in Barkahan, Kalat and Mach

A series of bomb blasts rocked different parts of Balochistan, resulting in casualties and damage to infrastructure, as violence continues to surge in the province.

In the Barkahan district, a powerful explosion occurred in the central market area of Rakhni town. According to initial reports, the blast was caused by a remote-controlled bomb planted on a motorcycle. Two individuals were killed on the spot, and at least 10 others sustained injuries. One of the deceased was identified as Luqman, son of Mohammad Hanif, reportedly affiliated with the Sufi shrine of Sakhi Sarwar.

Four of the injured are said to be in critical condition and were transferred to Dera Ghazi Khan hospital after receiving initial treatment at local medical centers. The explosion shattered windows of nearby shops and buildings, and a parked pickup truck sustained significant damage. Security forces, including police and Levies, quickly cordoned off the area, while bomb disposal and investigation teams collected evidence. A search operation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, in two separate incidents in Kalat and Mach (Bolan district), bomb explosions targeted Pakistani forces and railway infrastructure. In Kalat’s Johan area, four members of the bomb disposal squad were caught in a blast while conducting a clearance operation. While reports suggest possible casualties, official confirmation is still pending.

In another attack, an explosion occurred on the railway track between Mach and Ab-e-Gum, injuring one railway employee and causing partial damage to the rail line. Following the incidents, security forces sealed off the affected areas and called in additional bomb disposal units to prevent further threats.

These coordinated attacks have raised concerns about deteriorating security and increasing threats to both civilian and government infrastructure in Balochistan.
