QUETTA: The protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside Quetta Press Club, led by VBMP Vice Chairman Mama Qadeer Baloch, entered its 5,849th day on Friday. Delegations from the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and the Baloch Students Organization Pajjar (BSO Pajjar) visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the forcibly disappeared.
Speaking to the protesters, the visiting delegations emphasized that enforced disappearances are not just individual tragedies but a grave violation of humanity, and that political parties, especially those representing the Baloch people, must raise their voices against such injustices.
During their interaction with Mama Qadeer, the delegations pledged full support for the movement demanding the safe recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons and called for their immediate release.
Mama Qadeer Baloch criticized the political parties for their lack of unified and organized pressure against enforced disappearances, which, he said, has emboldened the state to continue abducting individuals with impunity. He added that young people who speak out against oppression and human rights abuses are being imprisoned.
He highlighted the case of Mahjabeen’s disappearance as a deeply alarming incident and demanded her immediate release. He also pointed out that Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders are being unjustly imprisoned, which has plunged the people of Balochistan into a state of grief and outrage. He stressed the urgent need for the restoration of political freedom in Balochistan.
On Friday, notable visitors to the camp included BNM leader Advocate Hassan Mengal, BNP Barkhan General Secretary Shahnawaz Khetran, BNP member Aslam Jan Khetran, BSO Pajjar Senior Vice Chairman Babul Malik, and Joint Secretary Tariq Baloch, all of whom recorded their protest and support for the cause.
