KECH, BALOCHISTAN: A Baloch freedom fighter was killed in a landmine explosion in the Dasht area of Kech district, Balochistan, on Friday.
According to local sources, the incident occurred in the hilly region of Siyahji near Malai Nagor, where the Pakistani military had reportedly planted landmines on all routes leading to the area. The deceased has been identified as Riaz, a resident of Dasht Sholi.
Sources further stated that the explosion occurred as a group of Baloch fighters was patrolling the area when Riaz accidentally stepped on one of the hidden mines.
Landmine incidents have become increasingly frequent in the region, raising serious concerns among local communities over civilian and resistance fighter casualties attributed to such military tactics.
