Khuzdar, Balochistan :A young man was shot dead in the Kodask area of Khuzdar by armed operatives of a death squad allegedly backed by the Pakistani military, local sources reported.
The victim has been identified as Muslim s/o Akhtar, a resident of Kodask. According to reports, he was called out of his home last night, where he was shot and killed on the spot by the assailants.
It is worth noting that Muslim had previously been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on October 10, 2024, and was later released on December 3, 2024, after being subjected to severe torture. He has now been killed in what is seen as a continuation of targeted violence.
Death squads operating under the protection and patronage of Pakistani forces have been accused of murdering several Baloch youths in recent years. Local residents and human rights groups have repeatedly condemned these squads for their alleged extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.
