
Karachi – The family of Zakariya Ismail Baloch, a law graduate who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani personnel in the Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi, has registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the local police station following his continued disappearance.
According to the FIR filed at Gulistan-e-Johar Police Station on May 25, 2025, the family stated that around 12:45 AM between the night of May 24 and 25, a group of 20 to 25 unidentified armed men forcibly entered their home, identifying themselves as officials from government institutions.
The family reported that the armed men separated the household members into different rooms, checked their ID cards, recorded videos, and then forcibly took Zakariya Ismail with them. Zakariya had recently completed his LLB and was preparing for his bar license.
The personnel also reportedly took Zakariya’s laptop, educational documents, and other personal belongings along with him.
The family mentioned in the FIR that the personnel had assured them Zakariya would be released after questioning, but several days have passed without any update on his whereabouts or well-being.
According to the family, CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained by the police, and eyewitnesses are available, confirming that Zakariya was taken from the house in front of family members. They stressed that this case of enforced disappearance cannot be ignored.
The family has urged the authorities to immediately make Zakariya’s whereabouts known and ensure his safe recovery.
