The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has released video footage via its media outlet Ashoob showing an attack on Pakistani Coast Guard personnel in the Jiwani area of Gwadar. According to the organization, this operation was carried out on May 29 at around 2 PM by the BLF’s Tactical Combat Unit’s swift guerrilla fighters at a Coast Guard checkpoint in the coastal region of “Sondi.”
According to the BLF, at the time of the attack, the Coast Guard personnel were forcibly collecting taxes from local fishermen. The fighters executed a well-planned assault, killing two Coast Guard personnel Ansar and Iftikhar Shah and confiscated their weapons and other military equipment.
The three-minute and forty-one-second video released by Ashoob includes scenes from before the attack. The video opens with footage showing Pakistani Coast Guard personnel abusing Baloch women and youth in various parts of Gwadar recorded by local residents prior to the attack.
The footage then shows BLF fighters advancing toward their target from the mountains of Balochistan, armed with modern and heavy weapons. They are later seen rapidly storming the coastal checkpoint and attacking the Coast Guard personnel. The fighters conduct the operation with high precision, seize weapons, and retreat safely from the area.
Toward the end of the video, the BLF fighters are also seen interacting respectfully with civilians, delivering a message that their struggle for the people’s rights will continue.
The BLF spokesperson stated that this successful operation highlights the superiority of the BLF’s intelligence network and the guerrilla warfare tactics employed by its Tactical Combat Unit.
According to local sources, personnel stationed at the checkpoint were regularly extorting money from fishermen and individuals involved in the oil trade.
