Karachi – Pakistani security forces have reportedly forcibly disappeared a young law graduate after raiding a house in the city late last night.
According to local sources, security personnel conducted an operation in the Hazara Goth area of Karachi and detained Zakria Ismail Baloch, subsequently moving him to an undisclosed location. Zakria had recently completed his law degree from the University of Karachi.
Family members stated that Zakria was taken from his room during the raid. Since his detention, the family has received no information regarding his whereabouts or legal status.
In a separate incident, Pakistani Rangers carried out a large-scale operation in Gul Muhammad Lane, another area of Karachi, the same night. Multiple homes were reportedly raided after the area was cordoned off, and door-to-door searches were conducted.
These incidents have raised fresh concerns among human rights advocates and civil society groups about the ongoing pattern of enforced disappearances in Karachi and wider Balochistan, often targeting students and political activists.
