Quetta – The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned a recent drone strike on civilian homes in North Waziristan that led to the brutal killing of children, terming it a clear act of Pashtun genocide.
In a statement issued to the media, the BYC spokesperson said, “We strongly condemn the drone strikes targeting civilian residences in North Waziristan and the barbaric killing of children. The Pashtun homeland has been subjected to state oppression, violence, and military brutality for decades. We consider this a clear and systematic genocide of the Pashtun people, without any justification or ambiguous explanation.”
The spokesperson drew a parallel between the situation in Balochistan and Waziristan, stating, “Just as the state is pursuing a policy of organized genocide against the Baloch nation, similar state brutality and violence continues on Pashtun soil.”
The statement further added that not only the Baloch and Pashtun nations, but oppressed communities across the region are suffering under severe state repression, including enforced disappearances of political leaders, extrajudicial killings, and so-called military operations. “The targeting of civilian populations with mortar shells and drone attacks has become routine, representing a blatant violation of human rights,” the spokesperson said.
BYC emphasized the need for a unified struggle among all oppressed nations against state brutality. “We believe that only collective resistance and the power of the people can defeat this tyrannical system,” the statement concluded.
