Turbat, Kech – May 13, 2025: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned a rocket launcher attack on the home of Jangiyan Baloch, a civilian resident of Balicha, in Tump Tehsil of Kech district. The incident left three members of his family injured and has sparked calls for an impartial investigation and an end to ongoing human rights violations in the region.
According to BWF, the attack was carried out by members of locally active militias commonly referred to as “death squads”, who reportedly operate under the protection of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies. The rocket attack resulted in serious injuries to Nawaz Jangiyan (son), Ayesha Mulla Raza (daughter-in-law), and Modho Naik Bakht (wife) of Jangiyan Baloch.
“We condemn this heinous act in the strongest terms. It is not just an attack on a family, but on the social fabric of the Baloch people,” the central spokesperson of the Baloch Women Forum said in a statement issued on Monday.
The BWF emphasized that Tump remains one of the most affected regions in Balochistan, where armed militias allegedly operate with impunity. The Forum accused these groups of engaging in targeted killings, disappearances, and attacks on civilians, fostering a state of lawlessness and violating the basic rights of the people.
BWF Demands:
The Forum called on authorities to:
- End the illegal operations and privileges granted to the local militias.
- Ensure a permanent halt to human rights abuses in Tump and across Balochistan.
- Launch an impartial and transparent inquiry into the attack on Jangiyan Baloch’s home and hold those responsible accountable.
- Provide medical and financial support to the affected family.
The Baloch Women Forum reiterated its commitment to exposing injustices and advocating for the rights and safety of the people of Balochistan, especially in the face of increasing militarization and impunity.
