A Peaceful Balochistan Threatens Warlords’ Interests: Dr. Shalee Baloch

Quetta: Dr. Shalee Baloch, the Central Organizer of the Baloch Women Forum (BWF), has urged the indigenous people of Balochistan to support the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) in every possible way amid the worsening situation in Balochistan.

She highlighted the increasing injustices and state-backed victimization of the Baloch people, citing the recent arrests of key figures such as Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen Baloch on fabricated charges. Dr. Shalee stated that the ongoing crackdown on peaceful human rights movements reflects a deep-rooted state policy to alienate the Baloch people.

“In the last three days alone, around 200 irregular detentions have been reported across the country,” she said, adding that the arrests of Mahrang Baloch, Sammi Deen Baloch, Bebow Baloch and others under the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO) are merely legal cover-ups to suppress peaceful dissent. She further condemned the indiscriminate firing on demonstrators, which has resulted in multiple casualties.

The oppression has intensified in Quetta, where security forces continue search operations aimed at intimidating the Baloch and deterring them from demanding justice. Dr. Shalee cited the recent raid on activist Gulzadi Baloch’s residence, where security forces allegedly seized her belongings and threatened her to abandon her activism.

More alarmingly, she pointed out the illegal detention of two underage girls, including 17-year-old Muzlefa Qambrani, from Qambrani Road Quetta. “This incident is particularly disturbing given Baloch social norms and traditions,”.

Dr. Shalee emphasized that the state’s reluctance to establish peace in Balochistan is driven by the vested interests of war profiteers. “Balochistan remains a conflict zone where many benefit from continued violence. A peaceful Balochistan would shrink their personal gains, which is why they deliberately provoke unrest—even in the holy month of Ramazan, without regard for age, gender, or health conditions,” she asserted.

She urged the people of Balochistan to rise against oppression, stating that collective accountability is the only way to ensure justice. “The excessive and irregular use of law to silence Baloch voices is an attempt to conceal the state’s inhumane actions,” she said.

Dr. Shalee Baloch called upon the indigenous people of Balochistan to stand with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and all those fighting for their legitimate rights. “In these critical times, unity is our only hope for peace, justice and a free Balochistan,”.
