State-Backed Death Squad Executes Brother of Enforcedly Disappeared BSO-Azad Leader in Naal

According to reports from Naal, district Khuzdar, armed operatives of a state-backed group opened fire and killed Shah Jan Baloch, the brother of former BSO-Azad Chairman Zahid Kurd, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces in March 2014.

The targeted killing has once again raised serious concerns over the ongoing wave of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where political activists and their families continue to face state-sponsored violence with impunity.
