Kech – Three members of Pakistani state forces were reportedly killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the Hirronk area of Kech district on Monday, February 3rd. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred at approximately 10:00 AM local time on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road.
According to a statement released by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the IED targeted a military vehicle. The blast resulted in the “elimination” of three personnel. The statement further detailed that following the explosion, helicopters were dispatched to the scene and conducted shelling in the area. Additionally, gunfire was reported from a nearby military checkpoint.
The BLF claimed that their fighters successfully evaded the subsequent response and relocated to a secure location.
The BLF statement emphasized their ongoing operations, both urban and rural, and highlighted their “advanced military strategies.” The group reiterated its commitment to targeting Pakistani forces and their installations until their complete withdrawal from Balochistan is achieved.
