Baloch Rights Activist, and leader of Baloch Yakjehti Committee has been recognized by the BBC as one of the most effective, influential and inspiring women for the year of 2024.
This acknowledgement comes in lights of her advocacy and struggle against the Enforced Disappearances, extra judicial killing and human rights abuses in Balochistan, by Pakistani state forces. This list also includes other notable figures around the world.
Dr. Mahrang Baloch was earlier awarded for the Time magazine Next 100 emerging leaders for the year of 2024.
The former chairperson of BSO Azad, Shaheed Karima Baloch, was also selected by the BBC as one of the 100 most influential women in 2016. Dr. Mahrang Baloch is the second Baloch woman to receive this honor.
