QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: VBMP Protest Camp Continues for 6,355th Day, Commission Issues Notices for Recovery of Muhammad Riaz Satakzai
The protest camp set up by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside Quetta Press Club against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for its 6,355th consecutive day today.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has formally registered the case of Muhammad Riaz Satakzai, who was forcibly disappeared in May this year from the FC Daghari checkpoint in Dasht, Mastung district and has initiated legal proceedings.
He said the commission has issued notices to relevant state institutions seeking an immediate response regarding Muhammad Riaz’s recovery. VBMP had submitted the case to the commission and the government on August 28.
Nasrullah Baloch expressed hope that the commission would effectively use its constitutional and legal authority to recover Muhammad Riaz and all other forcibly disappeared persons and help bring relief to affected families from prolonged suffering.
