KHUZDAR, BALOCHISTAN: Armed men blocked the CPEC route in Khuzdar late Friday, taking control of a stretch of the highway before attacking Pakistani forces the following morning.

According to the source, the gunmen reportedly in large numbers set up checkpoints near Wango and carried out snap checking along the main highway through the night, according to residents in the area.

By morning, forces stationed nearby came under attack. Sources said armoured vehicles and other military vehicles were hit, leaving the forces with losses, though the exact scale remains unclear.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, and no official statement has been issued.
