NOSHKI, BALOCHISTAN: Curfew in Noshki Extended by Four More Days; Section 144 Also Imposed

The Balochistan government has extended the ongoing curfew in Noshki district by another four days.

According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Home Department, the curfew in Noshki district will remain in effect daily from 6 am to 6 am, during which all forms of movement will be prohibited.

The notification states that Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code will also remain in force in the district during this period, banning public gatherings, processions and the assembly of more than four people.

Essential services including Rescue 1122, ambulances, the fire brigade, law enforcement agencies, security forces, medical staff, hospitals and electricity, gas and water services will be exempt from the curfew. Individuals holding curfew passes issued by the competent authority will also be exempt.

Authorities have been directed to strictly enforce the curfew orders, with action to be taken against violators in accordance with the law.

Reports from Noshki indicate that daily life has been severely affected by the curfew transport remains completely suspended, residents are confined to their homes and a severe shortage of food supplies has emerged.

Separately, reports emerged the previous day that the army raided several homes and took a number of individuals into custody, transporting them to an undisclosed location; no further information about them has been available since.
