QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Secretary General of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dil Murad Baloch, has stated that the party’s financial department is not merely an administrative unit or a constitutional provision, but the fundamental pillar of its organizational life, operational capacity, and institutional development. He emphasized that the department must continue to evolve in line with the demands of the time and the needs of the movement’s struggle.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the party’s Zonal Finance Secretaries, which was also attended by Central Finance Secretary Nasir Baloch and other members of the Finance Department.

Dil Murad Baloch said the strength of a national movement cannot be measured solely by its manifesto, slogans, membership numbers, or the sacrifices of its activists it must also be measured by its ability to translate ideology and political program into practical action. Ideology provides a vision of the destination,’ he said and dedicated members supply the human force for the struggle, but it is the party’s financial structure that enables those objectives to be realized. Without adequate resources, he added, even well-conceived plans remain unrealized, forcing the organization to focus on day-to-day survival rather than long-term priorities.

He stressed that financial self-reliance and independence are essential guarantees of political growth and organizational autonomy, arguing that a party generating its own resources through the contributions of its members, activists, and supporters remains free to determine its own strategy and decisions. He said BNM’s continuity over the years has been possible because members and sympathizers have consistently contributed to a sustainable financial base, while financial weakness directly undermines the implementation of party decisions and institutional development.

He further stated that the responsibility of those working in the party’s financial sector extends beyond fundraising, describing their mission as safeguarding the party’s independence, dignity, and capacity for long-term political investment. Finance Secretaries, he said, are not simply office holders but builders of the party’s resources who play a decisive role in strengthening the organization.

Referring to the ongoing conflict in Balochistan, Dil Murad Baloch said the responsibilities of the Baloch diaspora have grown accordingly. While activists inside Balochistan continue their struggle amid what he described as repression, arrests, and enforced disappearances, members living abroad enjoy relatively safer environments and greater freedom for political activity. He said this freedom should be viewed not merely as a personal opportunity but as an additional national responsibility, with diaspora members able to strengthen the party’s collective capacity through regular financial contributions, professional expertise, and political networking.

Concluding his remarks, he said the party must move beyond temporary fundraising campaigns and reliance solely on monthly membership dues and instead build a stronger, more sustainable financial system. He said that when members consistently contribute even a small portion of their income, they cultivate not just funds but a collective sense of ownership, responsibility, trust, and self-reliance.

He added that the party’s objective should be to build a transparent, accountable, and sustainable financial system one capable of meeting present-day needs while leaving future generations an organization that is self-reliant and able to fulfil its stated mission through the strength of its ideology, members, and own resources.
