SP House Targeted in Surab, Blockades and Ambush Reported in Panjgur

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Unknown armed men carried out a brazen attack on the Superintendent of Police (SP) House in Surab late last night, setting fire to official government vehicles and residential rooms.

Sources confirmed that various parts of the building sustained significant damage in the attack. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. Law enforcement agencies reached the scene and launched a search operation in the area. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack and an investigation is currently underway.

Meanwhile, on the Panjgur–Cheedgi route, armed men set up a blockade at a location called Zaraat and carried out checking of vehicles. During the blockade, a trailer truck was targeted and its tyres were shot, causing damage to the vehicle.

In a separate incident at Paroom, armed men ambushed a convoy of pro-government members travelling in four vehicles. According to local sources, one vehicle came under direct fire and casualties are feared. Following the attack, heavy contingents of security forces arrived in the area and a prolonged exchange of fire took place.

No group has claimed responsibility for any of these incidents so far.

Authorities have not yet issued any official statement regarding any of these incidents. Investigations are underway and security has been placed on high alert across the affected areas.
