LONDON: The Europe chapter coordinator of Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh (VMPS) has announced full support for a protest and “First Parade of Oppressed Nations” planned outside 10 Downing Street on 10 December 2026, International Human Rights Day.

Sarang Sindhi, said in a statement that the event is organised by the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM). He urged activists, political leaders and members of civil society from oppressed nations living in the United Kingdom to take part.

Sarang said activists from the Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun, Kashmiri, Gilgiti, Balti and Seraiki communities in the UK were expected to attend in large numbers, as in previous years. He said the protest would represent the collective voice of these communities rather than that of any single nation or organisation.

He further said that the Pakistani government had unlawfully disappeared thousands of political activists and that some had been held for more than twenty years in torture cells run by intelligence and security agencies. He named the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He further alleged that cases of enforced disappearance are rising every month, leaving thousands of families in distress and uncertainty.

He said enforced disappearances, illegal detention, torture and restrictions on freedom of expression are serious human rights violations, and called on the international community, UN agencies and rights organisations to take notice and help secure justice for affected families.

According to Hyder, the demonstration aims to urge the British prime minister to take notice of alleged rights abuses in Pakistan. Protesters will also call on the UK government and international rights bodies to support an independent investigation into the human rights situation in Pakistan and to protect those affected.

Sarang Sindhi expressed hope that the event would be an important milestone toward securing the rights of the communities involved.
