Balochistan Braces for Hot, Dry Weather; Met Department Forecasts Rain in Select Districts

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Meteorological Department has forecast predominantly hot and dry weather across most districts of Balochistan, while predicting partly cloudy skies in northern and western parts of Balcohistan.

According to the Met Department, there is a possibility of rain at isolated locations in Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Nasirabad, and Khuzdar, while northern and western districts are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions.

The rest of Balochistan is likely to remain dry with intense heat continuing to grip the region.

A significant temperature contrast was observed between Balochistan’s interior and coastal areas. Sibi recorded the highest temperature in the province at 48°C, making it one of the hottest cities in Balochistan, while coastal cities Gwadar and Jiwani remained comparatively moderate at 34°C and 33°C respectively.

Ziarat, known for its cool climate and pine forests, recorded the lowest maximum temperature in Balochsitan at 30°C.

Residents across Balochistan, particularly in high-temperature districts such as Sibi, Nokundi, and Turbat, are advised to:

  • Avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours
  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
  • Seek shade and cool shelter during extreme heat periods
  • Check on elderly and children who are most vulnerable to heatstroke
