Armed Men Set Up Checkpoint, Attack Police Station in Mastung

MASTUNG, BALOCHISTAN: Armed men set up a checkpoint in Mastung’s Dringhar area, stopping and searching passing vehicles before attacking a nearby police station and seizing weapons and government equipment.

On the same day, Gwadar University Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed went missing along with two colleagues while traveling by official vehicle from Gwadar to Quetta, disappearing in the vicinity of Mastung and Kalat. Daily Pakistan

Deputy Commissioner Mastung Bahram Saleem confirmed the abduction, stating that local administration, police, and security forces had launched a search operation across Mastung and surrounding areas. He added that no ransom demand or contact from the abductors had been received. Express News

No group has yet claimed responsibility for either incident. Similar checkpoint seizures and weapons confiscations in Balochistan have previously been claimed by Baloch separatist armed groups.
