According to sources, two security personnel were wounded when an explosion struck near a vehicle in the Pirkoh area of Dera Bugti, Balochistan, officials said.
Police and law enforcement agencies reached the scene promptly and cordoned off the area following the blast. Rescue teams shifted the wounded personnel to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, human rights organisations and local sources have consistently raised concerns regarding the activities of pro-government armed groups operating in Dera Bugti under the banner of so-called “peace forces.” These groups, critics allege, operate with the patronage of Pakistani security forces in the area. Local activists and civilians claim they have been targeted during security operations in the region.

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN; The Pakistani military’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed an attack in Balochistan that resulted in the death of five personnel, including a major. Meanwhile, the armed Baloch group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack. According to the ISPR statement, based on intelligence, an operation was conducted that led to intense firing. The military claimed that seven alleged militants were killed and weapons and explosives were recovered. The ISPR confirmed that five personnel lost their lives during the clash, including Major Tasif. On the other hand, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that a Pakistani military convoy was targeted in a coordinated attack. The attack involved a remote-controlled explosion of a vehicle followed by heavy gunfire. The BLA claimed that Major Tawsif and eight other military personnel were killed in the operation, which they said was carried out based on intelligence information.
