
QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN; The Pakistani military’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed an attack in Balochistan that resulted in the death of five personnel, including a major. Meanwhile, the armed Baloch group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the ISPR statement, based on intelligence, an operation was conducted that led to intense firing. The military claimed that seven alleged militants were killed and weapons and explosives were recovered.
The ISPR confirmed that five personnel lost their lives during the clash, including Major Tasif.
On the other hand, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that a Pakistani military convoy was targeted in a coordinated attack. The attack involved a remote-controlled explosion of a vehicle followed by heavy gunfire.
The BLA claimed that Major Tawsif and eight other military personnel were killed in the operation, which they said was carried out based on intelligence information.
The BLA has accepted responsibility for the attack.
