QUETTA: The Spokesperson for United Baloch Army (UBA) Mazzar Baloch, has claimed responsibility for the killing of operatives belonging to a state-backed death squad in Kachhi, Balochistan.
According to the statement, on the night of April 4, UBA fighters encountered members of a group affiliated with Farid Raisani, identified as the head of a state-supported death squad, in the Sanni area of Kachhi during a patrol. An exchange of fire took place, resulting in the deaths of two operatives, Aziz Jatoi and Nawab Jatoi, son of Muhammad Ashraf Jatoi, at the scene. Their weapons were also seized.
The statement further said that the individuals had been working for several years with a death squad established by Pakistani intelligence agencies. It claims that they had previously been warned by Baloch fighters but continued their activities. These activities included informing on and tracking Baloch separatist fighters, as well as involvement in the arrest of civilians and Baloch youth in the area.
According to the UBA, information provided by Aziz and Nawab Jatoi, along with others like them, has in the past led to the capture of several Baloch youths by opposing forces.
The statement also claims that many individuals in Kachhi are currently working with Pakistani intelligence agencies, betraying their people for money. UBA issues a warning to such individuals to cease cooperation with the state, military checkpoints and institutions, stating they will otherwise be responsible for the consequences.
The UBA spokesperson added that they possess detailed information about those collaborating with the state and warned that such individuals would remain targets in the future, emphasizing that no leniency would be shown toward what they describe as “national traitors.”
