The Hague, Netherlands: A protest was held today outside the International Court of Justice in The Hague by the Europe chapter of the Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh. The demonstration was led by Coordinator Sarang Sindhi and Deputy Coordinator Saeed Sindhi.
The protesters raised their voices against the enforced disappearances of political activists and ordinary citizens in Sindh, Pakistan and demanded their safe and immediate recovery.
Sarang Sindhi and Saeed Sindhi stated that cases of enforced disappearances are occurring on a weekly basis in Sindh. They highlighted that hundreds of individuals many of them political activists have been forcibly disappeared. They further noted that since 2020, there has been a significant rise in such cases, with reports suggesting that over 10,000 people have been abducted, including more than 3,500 political activists.
Following the protest, the coordinators submitted a memorandum to the administration of the International Court of Justice. The document detailed ongoing human rights violations in Sindh and called for the release of forcibly disappeared nationalist activists, including Sohail Raza Bhatti, Ejaz Gaho, Ayoub Kandhro, and others.
Afterward, a delegation from Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh led by Sarang Sindhi and Saeed Sindhi visited the office of the International Commission on Missing Persons in The Hague and submitted another memorandum.
Officials there assured the delegation that efforts would be made to support the recovery of missing persons from Sindh, Pakistan.
