LONDON, UK, 11 October 2026: Baloch National Movement (BNM) Chairman Dr Naseem Baloch has said national independence, political unity and practical cooperation are essential for the Baloch and Sindhi nations, arguing that without independence, democracy, peace and a sustainable future remain empty promises.

He was addressing the 38th International Conference of the World Sindhi Congress (WSC).

Dr Naseem Baloch said that, without national independence, democracy, peace and a sustainable future become “beautiful words” and comforting dreams. He said the pursuit of all four goals is closely connected for both Nations.

Speaking as BNM chairman, he said he did not feel like a stranger among the people of Sindh. He said Sindh and Balochistan are not merely neighbouring lands but are bound by centuries of human, cultural, economic and political ties. Their borders, historical memories, experiences and present-day problems, he said, are interlinked.

He said national independence cannot be achieved without a clear political struggle, perseverance and sacrifice, and described it as far more than a slogan. He said the continuing exploitation and occupation of Baloch and Sindhi lands threaten the identity and future of both peoples, because for them the question of land is one of national existence, identity and the survival of future generations.

Dr Naseem Baloch urged Baloch and Sindhi leaders to respect each other’s national identities, political organisations and separate priorities while taking joint action on human rights, enforced disappearances, political prisoners, resources, the environment and effective representation at international forums.

Cooperation, he said, should be based on mutual respect and equality rather than emotional slogans. Real unity, he said, means both peoples keep their own identities and priorities while standing as equals on shared problems, turning sympathy into practical solidarity.

He said history has inflicted many wounds on both nations but also offers opportunities and that both now have an important chance to rebuild their national states and political systems. He called for scattered capabilities to be turned into an organised political and diplomatic force by learning from each other’s experiences.

Expressing solidarity with the Sindhi people, he said wherever they raise their voice, “from the political stage to the toughest front,” they will find the Baloch at their side.
