QUETTA: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has condemned the killing of a 23-year-old driver in Panjgur, describing it as part of ongoing violence in Balochistan.

In a statement, BYC said that Abdullah, son of Haji Dad Muhammad and a resident of Reesh Pesh Paroom, was targeted and killed on March 20, 2026. The organization said that the killing was carried out by “death squads.”

The committee expressed concern over continuing pattern of target killings, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial actions in Balochistan. It noted that the incident occurred just a day before Eid, adding that such events have turned a time of celebration into mourning for many families.

“What kind of state turns Eid into mourning?” the statement said, adding that families are forced to attend funerals instead of celebrations.

BYC further stated that the situation in Balochistan reflects widespread grief and a lack of accountability, with incidents of violence continuing without, what it described as, adequate response.

The organization called on international human rights groups to take urgent notice of the situation and urged action regarding what it described as ongoing violations. It also emphasized that voices of affected communities would continue to speak out against what they see as injustice.
