QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) carried out a series of coordinated operations on key highways across Mastung, Barkhan, Kohlu and Kalat, establishing full control over strategic routes and raising public awareness about the armed struggle for Balochistan’s freedom.
On 19 March, BLF fighters imposed a blockade on the Quetta–Taftan Road near Sheikh Wasil in Mastung, completely halting traffic until late at night. All passing vehicles were subjected to snap checks and the Levies check post in the area was seized. Personnel stationed at the post were taken into custody, while the post previously facilitating occupying forces was set ablaze and destroyed. The detained personnel were later released after being warned not to assist the occupying forces.
Earlier, on 18 March, BLF fighters established checkpoints along Shahrah-e-Bodhi Eishani in Kohlu and in the area between Barkhan and Rakni. The blockade, which lasted approximately three hours, included strict snap checking of all vehicles. During the operation, two vehicles of the Barkhan Police SP Saad Afridi squad tried to bypass the blockade. Fighters fired warning shots to compel them to comply. One police officer taken into custody was later released on humanitarian grounds.
On the same day, BLF also blocked traffic on the RCD Highway in the Sang Das area of Kalat, suspending movement for several hours. Vehicles were searched, though no enemy convoys or informants were found. Full control over the strategic routes was maintained, and the operation was used to inform the public about the objectives of the armed struggle for freedom.
“These operations demonstrate that all key highways and strategic corridors are under our direct control,” said Major Gwahram Baloch, BLF Spokesperson. “The ability of our fighters to conduct prolonged blockades and inspections in broad daylight, despite enemy security cordons, proves our operational superiority, territorial dominance, and the enemy’s inability to challenge us.”
Major Gwahram Baloch emphasized that the sustained blockades reflect the BLF’s firm grip over regional geography and communication links, and reaffirm the movement’s commitment to advancing the struggle for Balochistan’s liberation.
