Detained BYC Leader Bebarg Baloch Urges Nation to Remember Disappeared Persons During Eid

QUETTA: A detained leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), Bebarg Baloch, has issued a message from prison, calling on people to remember forcibly disappeared individuals and their families during Eid.

In his statement, Bebarg Baloch said that Eid in Balochistan no longer carries the same joy, as countless families continue to suffer due to enforced disappearances. He described how many homes remain in darkness despite the arrival of Eid, with mothers, sisters, and families still waiting for their loved ones who have not returned.

He highlighted that for many families, festive occasions have turned into moments of pain, remembrance, and endurance. “When people are taken away from their homes and silence replaces their presence, celebrations lose their meaning,” he stated.

Bebarg Baloch urged the Baloch Nation to remember those who remain disappeared while celebrating Eid. He called on people to keep in mind the families who continue to wait, the individuals who have disappeared and those who have lost their lives amid ongoing hardships and in this struggle.

He also emphasized the broader humanitarian impact, noting that poverty, deprivation and state injustices have further deepened the suffering of affected families. He particularly drew attention to the struggles of women who, according to him, continue to protest and seek justice for their missing relatives.

Despite the hardships, Bebarg Baloch encouraged people to celebrate Eid, but in a way that includes remembrance and solidarity with those affected. He stressed the importance of keeping the memory of the disappeared alive through prayers, conversations and collective awareness.

He concluded by saying that while the people of Balochistan have endured pain and loss, they have maintained their dignity, resilience and humanity. He urged the nation to keep their compassion alive and to ensure that the voices of the missing are not forgotten.
