
Panjgur: At least six people were killed when unidentified armed assailants opened fire in the Dastak area of Chedgi, Panjgur, local sources confirmed.
According to reports, the attack occurred on a road near the Iranian border that is allegedly used for informal fuel transportation. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen targeted vehicles with heavy gunfire, killing six individuals on the spot. The attackers later set two vehicles ablaze before fleeing the scene.
Police and Levies personnel rushed to the site shortly after receiving information about the incident. The area was cordoned off as security officials began collecting evidence. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Police authorities stated that investigations are underway to determine the nature and motive of the attack. Efforts are also ongoing to identify the deceased.
Local sources noted that incidents of robbery and armed violence have previously been reported along this route. However, the exact circumstances and reasons behind the latest attack remain unclear.
