QUETTA: Pakistani security forces have detained more than 100 individuals during operations carried out in multiple areas of Quetta and transferred them to undisclosed locations, according to local sources.

The so-called provincial government claimed that over 100 “suspected individuals” were arrested during the operation and that small and large quantities of weapons were recovered from several houses. However, no evidence or details were provided to the media to substantiate these claims.

Government officials stated that internet services in Quetta would be restored by tonight. They further claimed that the overall security situation across Balochistan was under control. However, reports indicate that the situation remains tense in several areas, including Noshki and Naal Khuzdar, where communication services are still suspended.

It is noteworthy that on 31 January, coordinated attacks were launched on government and military installations in at least twelve cities across Balochistan, including Quetta, Gwadar, Pasni, Dalbandin, Kharan, and Noshki. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attacks, describing them as part of the second phase of “Operation Herof.”
