QUETTA: The protest by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances entered its 6,051st day on Thursday, as relatives of the missing continue to sit at the protest camp, recording their peaceful demonstration.

During the protest, visitors from various walks of life visited the camp to show solidarity with the families of the disappeared. They expressed deep concern over enforced disappearances in Balochistan and demanded the immediate and safe recovery of missing persons, particularly women who have been forcibly disappeared.

Relatives of the missing told reporters that they have been appealing to authorities and relevant institutions for the safe return of their loved ones through peaceful means, but have received little response. They said the prolonged lack of action has caused them severe mental anguish. The families urged the government to play an effective role in recovering the missing persons.

Speaking at the protest, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch assured the families that the organization would continue to raise its voice on all platforms against enforced disappearances and extrajudicial violations, and maintain its constitutional and peaceful struggle for human rights.

He further announced that the case of forcibly disappeared woman Nasreen Baloch has been formally submitted to the government and the relevant commission. Nasrullah Baloch urged the authorities to ensure her immediate and safe recovery, and if she faces any allegations, to present her before a court to allow due legal process and the opportunity to defend herself.

VBMP reiterated its commitment to continue protests and advocacy until the complete end of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
