Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for IED attacks targeting Pakistani military personnel and installations in the Panjgur and Kech. The claim was made in a statement issued to the media by the group’s spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch.
According to the spokesperson, on 11 January, Pakistani army personnel on foot were targeted with a remote-controlled IED in the Katagari area of Panjgur, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers at the scene.
The spokesperson further stated that in another action, an installation along the CPEC route in the Dasht Konari area of Kech was destroyed using explosives, and cameras mounted on the tower were rendered inoperative.
The statement added that attempts by military units to advance during the incident were repelled and that, despite gunfire and mortar shelling, the attackers managed to withdraw safely.
