BLF Claims Five Military Personnel Killed in Three Attacks in Mashkay and Awaran

QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for three separate attacks in Mashkay and Awaran, Saying that five Pakistani military personnel were killed in the incidents.

In a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the group said its fighters attacked a Pakistani army camp located in the Miani Kalat area of Mashkay on the evening of December 31. According to the BLF, the camp was targeted from three directions using heavy weapons, resulting in what it described as casualties and material losses.

The statement further said that earlier the same day, BLF fighters patrolled several areas of Mashkay, including Khalidabad, Miani Kalat and Bansar. During the patrols, the group claimed its members addressed local residents, calling for public support for what it described as a national struggle.

According to the BLF, another attack took place on January 1 in the Bazdad Pump area of Awaran, where a sniper team targeted security personnel guarding a military convoy, killing one soldier. The group further claimed that approximately two hours later, its fighters ambushed a six-vehicle army convoy near Kundor in the same area, targeting two vehicles and killing four soldiers, while wounding three others.

The BLF said it accepts responsibility for what it claimed were the killings of five military personnel in the three attacks carried out in Mashkay and Awaran.
