Quetta: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for two separate incidents targeting Pakistani army personnel and what it described as a “death squad” member in the Kolwah, Awaran.
In a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the group said that on the evening of December 23, at around 5:30 PM, BLF fighters attacked Pakistani army personnel in the Kenichi area of Kolwah. According to the statement, the army unit was returning to its main camp after conducting a search operation in nearby areas when it was targeted with heavy weapons. The BLF claimed that the attack lasted for approximately half an hour and caused damage to army personnel and vehicles.
In a separate development, the BLF stated that on November 12, 2025, its fighters detained Zahid, son of Nodi, a resident of Sandpom, from the Hor area following information provided by the group’s intelligence wing. The statement claimed that Zahid was interrogated by the BLF and allegedly confessed to spying for the Pakistani army since August 2024. The BLF further said that he admitted involvement in multiple ambushes against its fighters.
According to the statement, after what the group described as “proven charges,” the BLF’s internal judicial body issued a death sentence, which it said was carried out on December 22 at around 6:30 PM in the Garadi area of Gishkor.
The BLF also said that recruitment of informants and death squad members against the Baloch independence movement is ongoing in the region under the supervision of an individual identified as Jiyand Sajidi. The group claimed it would continue operations against what it termed “anti-national elements” based on information obtained during interrogations.
