Quetta: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has announced the safe release of 21 individuals who were previously in its custody.
In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that on October 23, 2025, BLF fighters carried out an attack on the camp of a construction company working on what the group described as an exploitative project in the Kaleri area of Nal. During the operation, heavy machinery at the site was damaged and 19 employees of the construction company were taken into custody.
The spokesperson stated that following the incident, Pakistani security forces conducted intense aerial and ground operations in the area at different times, aimed at harming the detained individuals. He claimed that despite difficult conditions, BLF fighters successfully repelled these operations and ensured the safety of all individuals held in custody.
According to Major Gwahram Baloch, the majority of those detained belonged to the neighboring Sindhi community. He said that appeals for their release were made by various nationalist and humanitarian circles, including the Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA). Taking into account these appeals and what he described as the historical relationship of mutual respect between the Baloch and Sindhi peoples, the organization decided to release the detained Sindhi workers with dignity and full safety. He added that all of them have now returned to their families.
The spokesperson further said that on December 12, BLF fighters had also taken two officials affiliated with Pakistan’s Customs Department into custody during a blockade in the Beseema area. He claimed that, following appeals from political figures and on humanitarian grounds, the individuals were treated respectfully and released safely after the completion of questioning.
Major Gwahram Baloch stated that the BLF has now released all individuals previously held in its custody. He added that the organization claims it does not harm individuals who, in its view, are not involved in actions against the Baloch nation.
Concluding the statement, the BLF spokesperson appealed to neighboring nations, particularly the Sindhi and Pashtun peoples, to refrain from working on development projects in Balochistan that the group considers exploitative or from joining Pakistani security forces.
