The Baloch Republican Army (BRA) has claimed responsibility for deadly clashes with Pakistani military forces in the Sui region of Dera Bugti district, Balochistan, which resulted in the deaths of six Pakistani soldiers and one BRA fighter.
In a statement issued to the media, BRA spokesperson Sarbaz Baloch said that the confrontation began in the Goopat area of Sui when Pakistani forces set up a blockade along the route used by BRA fighters. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, lasting for approximately two hours, during which three soldiers were reportedly killed on the spot.
Later, BRA fighters ambushed a convoy of Frontier Corps (FC) forces heading from the Sui cantonment towards Goopat. The fighters launched a heavy assault using rockets and other advanced weaponry, killing an additional three soldiers and injuring more than ten others, according to the statement.
Sarbaz Baloch confirmed that one of their fighters, Sangat Barkat alias Gul Bugti, son of Hayot Bugti, was martyred during the clash. He noted that Gul Bugti had been affiliated with the organization for the past eight years and belonged to the “Hotkani” sub-tribe of the Bugti clan.
“He was a brave and capable young man whose family has made significant sacrifices for the Baloch homeland,” the spokesperson stated.
The BRA concluded its statement by paying tribute to Gul Bugti for his sacrifice, honoring him as a martyr in their continued struggle.
