In a series of coordinated attacks across Balochistan’s Jhao, Kolwah and Noshki regions, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for killing four commandos of Pakistan Army’s elite Special Services Group (SSG) and seizing a police check post along with its weaponry.
According to a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the assaults were part of an ongoing resistance against what the group terms the “occupying forces” of Pakistan. The statement details that the attacks resulted in significant casualties and setbacks for the security forces.
The most notable of these incidents occurred during an operation in the mountainous terrain of Jhao, where BLF fighters allegedly ambushed SSG commandos descending from helicopters, killing four. Simultaneously, helicopters supporting the operation were targeted with heavy weaponry, reportedly forcing them to retreat.
Subsequent actions included an attack on a security forces’ check post in the Kolwah region and the capture of a police post in Noshki’s Tadez area. The BLF claims that the police personnel on duty were taken hostage briefly, and government-issued arms were confiscated. The personnel were later released unharmed due to non-resistance.
