QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), released details on its official channel “HAKKAL” regarding seven of its fighters it says were killed in separate clashes across Balochistan in recent months.
According to the BLA’s statement, the group’s first fighter, identified as Sherbaz Baloch, alias Gazain, son of Haji Imam Bakhsh Bangulzai, was a resident of Kili Qambrani in Quetta. The group said he joined the organization in 2026 and was transferred to the Mastung front, where he completed basic physical training courses. He was martyred on July 14, 2026, in Dasht, Mastung, in what the group described as a drone strike.
The BLA said he had been forcibly disappeared in August of the previous year and held in harsh custody before later joining the group and becoming active on attacks in the Mastung area, where the organization said he also assisted fellow fighters in maintaining what it called organizational dominance in the region.
The second fighter named was Muhammad Sharif Notwani, alias Shai Mureed, son of Muhammad Amin Notwani, from Moola in Khuzdar district. The BLA said he joined the group in 2026 through the Surab front and was martyred on August 18, 2026, in the Hajika area of Surab. The statement claimed he took part in a series of attacks on security forces in the Surab area within a short period of joining and that the group credited him with contributing to its efforts to expand and hold territory in that front.
The third fighter, Maulvi Imran, alias Umar Farooq, son of Maulvi Muhammad Saeed, was from Zamran in Kech district. According to the statement, he joined the organization in 2025 and, after completing what the BLA described as physical, mental, and ideological training courses, was transferred to the Washuk front on the direction of the group’s command. He was martyred on August 7, 2026, in Washuk. The BLA described him as a hafiz-e-Quran (one who has memorized the Quran) and said he was involved in organizational military activity in the area, which it claimed disrupted the advance of security forces there.
The fourth fighter, Maulana Muneer Ahmed, alias Abdul Baseer, was a resident of Zehri. The group said he joined in 2025 and, after completing basic training programs, became active on the Washuk front, where he took part in a number of what the BLA called combat operations against security forces. He was martyred on August 7, 2026, the same day and location as Maulvi Imran. The BLA claimed he had also participated in an operation it referred to as “Operation Herof-II,” which the group described as a significant engagement in the region, though this claim has not been independently verified.
The fifth fighter named was Ali Haider Muhammad Shahi, alias Kamal, son of Shah Muhammad Muhammad Shahi, from the Niam Gundi area of Quetta. According to the BLA, he joined the group in May 2025 and was transferred to the Mastung front after completing basic military training courses. He was later assigned to a “patrol command” role, in which the group said he was involved in advances against security forces, roadblocks on highways described as part of strategic operations, and other organizational and military duties in the area. He was martyred on August 22, 2026, in Mastung. The group claimed that he and fellow fighters killed 13 security personnel in an attack shortly before his death, a claim that has not been independently verified.
The sixth fighter, Zahoor Ahmed Langov, alias Shikari, son of Abdul Majeed Langov, was from Zehri in Khuzdar district. The BLA said he joined the organization in 2023 and was active across the Bolan, Shor Parod, and Surab fronts over a roughly three-year period, during which the group said he took part in a number of what it described as significant engagements against security forces. He was martyred on August 30, 2026, in the Jori area of Surab.
The seventh fighter identified by the group was Dr. Lal Khan, alias Durk, son of Nawaz Ali, a resident of Panjgur and a former MBBS student at Bolan Medical College. According to the BLA, he joined the organization in 2024, moved to active fronts in 2025, and served in a patrol command role across the Shor Parod, Noshki, and Washuk fronts. The group said he took part in sustained fighting for six days during what it called “Operation Herof-II” in Noshki, after which he was transferred to the Washuk front, where the BLA said he held organizational, administrative, and operational responsibilities. He was martyred on August 30, 2026, in Washuk.
