QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The United Baloch Army (UBA) has claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a Pakistani forces vehicle in Kachhi.

According to a statement issued by UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch, the group’s fighters targeted a vehicle in a seven-vehicle Pakistani Army convoy using a remote-controlled bomb at around 8:30am today, in the Cheghardi area between Dhadar, the district’s main city, and Sanni. The group claimed the convoy was struck as it was heading toward its main checkpoint.

The UBA said the blast killed 8 personnel on the spot and left 2 others seriously injured. The statement added that following brief clashes with forces in the convoy, its fighters withdrew safely, following what it described as guerrilla warfare tactics.

The UBA said it was claiming responsibility for the attack and that such operations would continue “until the liberation of Balochistan.”
