KHUZDAR, BALOCHISTAN: Students Protest After Digital Library Locked by Administration

Students of the Digital Library in Khuzdar staged a protest after the district administration locked the facility’s main gate, leaving them unable to access the library.

The protest followed a peaceful walk organized by the students to demand protection of their educational rights, in which students, teachers, and local residents participated in large numbers. At the conclusion of the walk, the district administration locked the library’s main gate and some students were also treated inappropriately, according to participants.

Following the closure, students have been forced to continue their studies while sitting on the roadside outside the library.

Participants described the situation as deeply unfortunate and concerning. Students said they have no personal dispute with any individual or institution, stressing that their protest is entirely peaceful and that their sole demand is the protection of their legitimate, basic educational rights.

The students have called on the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Commissioner of Kalat Division, and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice and resolve the issue fairly, so that educational activities can continue without interruption.

The students warned that if their legitimate demands are not met, they will hold a peaceful protest on the main highway tomorrow, adding that the district administration will bear full responsibility for any resulting consequences.
