QUETTA: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has stated that the incident involving Faheema Laghari Baloch reflects a tragic lack of safety for female students in educational institutions.

In an official statement, the forum’s central spokesperson said that the incident involving Faheema Laghari Baloch is not merely an isolated case affecting a single student but a clear indication of serious flaws and a deep-rooted crisis within society and the education system. The forum strongly condemned the incident, calling it a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of justice, safety, and human dignity.

The statement highlighted concerns regarding institutions such as Muhammadi Medical College in Mirpurkhas, emphasising that such institutions are responsible for providing a safe, respectful and peaceful learning environment. The occurrence of such incidents, it noted, is deeply alarming and unacceptable.

The spokesperson further stated that the situation underscores a harsh reality: the safety, dignity and mental well-being of female students are not being given the priority they deserve. Such incidents not only affect the victim but also have far-reaching consequences for the overall educational environment.

The forum stressed that issues such as harassment, abuse and exploitation must not be viewed as isolated incidents but rather as systemic problems requiring serious, effective and long-term measures. It warned that such tragedies erode students’ confidence, create fear and insecurity, and damage the credibility of educational institutions.

The Baloch Women Forum emphasised that injustice against any student reflects the failure of the entire system, and remaining silent only perpetuates further injustice. It called for immediate and concrete steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
