QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has issued a statement rejecting claims made by Jaish al-Adl regarding a deadly clash in the Dastak area of Panjgur.
According to the BLF spokesperson, the group’s fighters had established a road blockade in Dastak on February 23 when three vehicles approached the area. The BLF said that individuals inside two of the vehicles were armed and opened fire after being signaled to stop and identify themselves.
The BLF claims that its fighters responded with “defensive counter-operation,” resulting in the deaths of six armed individuals. The group further stated that weapons were seized from the scene, including a light machine gun and multiple rifles. One vehicle was reportedly destroyed during the exchange of fire, while another was later set ablaze.
In its statement, the BLF rejected media claims attributed to Jaish al-Adl that the deceased individuals were members of that organization. The BLF accused Jaish al-Adl of operating in coordination with Pakistani security forces and engaging in activities along border routes in the region.
