Quetta: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,075th consecutive day outside the Quetta Press Club under the leadership of the organization’s Chairman, Nasrullah Baloch.

People from various walks of life visited the protest camp, recorded their protest against enforced disappearances, and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons. Participants demanded that the government take concrete steps to immediately end enforced disappearances and ensure the recovery of all missing individuals.

Speaking on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind had acknowledged during a media briefing that more than 100 people were taken into custody by state institutions across Balochistan within a single week.

However, Nasrullah Baloch said that none of those detained have been presented before any court, nor have their families been informed about their whereabouts or well-being. He added that this lack of information has placed the families under severe mental distress.

He demanded that the government immediately present those detainees against whom allegations exist before courts of law. He also called for the immediate release of those who are innocent, so that their families can be relieved of prolonged suffering.
