Quetta: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has paid tribute to veteran Baloch leader and human rights activist Mama Qadeer Baloch, calling his passing “an end of an era of constant struggle.”

The statement was issued by the central spokesperson of BWF, Mama Qadeer Baloch passed away, December 20, 2025, at Arya Hospital in Quetta after a long-standing illness. The forum described him as a tireless leader in the campaign against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, noting that he never wavered in his mission to protect and recover forcibly detained Baloch citizens, whom he referred to as his “children.”

The statement highlighted Mama Qadeer’s decades-long activism, including his historic long march from Quetta to Islamabad in 2013–2014, organized with families of missing Baloch to draw attention to severe human rights violations in the province. During his activism, he faced repeated harassment, threats, attacks on his protest camps, and legal restrictions, yet he remained undeterred in his mission.

BWF further noted that Mama Qadeer’s personal losses, including the enforced disappearance and later death of his own son, shaped his commitment to the Baloch national cause. Despite immense personal pain, he dedicated his life to the struggle for justice and human rights, leaving behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and principled activism.

The forum expressed its deep condolences to Mama Qadeer’s family, colleagues, and the wider Baloch community, stating that his passing marks the loss of a historic and inspirational figure in the ongoing Baloch movement. His struggle, they said, will continue to guide future generations in the fight for justice and the recovery of the forcibly disappeared.
